The 2 1/2 hour tour will celebrate Oktoberfest by visiting historic breweries and biergartens, including lagering cellars deep underground, before toasting with a complimentary beer in a reborn brewery.
Guests will start at the Gerke lagering cellars, learning how Over-the-Rhine was settled by waves of German immigrants who brought their love of beer with them. Walking north, we'll cross "der Rhine" (the old Miami and Erie Canal) into Washington Park and hear stories of this German neighborhood, before entering lagering cellars never before opened to the public. Learning how lager beer consumption and production changed the face of Cincinnati, we'll walk up Vine Street to one of the most historic biergartens in the city, where we'll hear from historic figures themselves. Ending at the Christian Moerlein Malthouse Tap Room, we'll toast to our brewing heritage past, present, and future!
